Healthcare and Hospital laundry services

In 2005, Celtic Linen invested €30 million in developing its Drinagh site including a specialist laundry services healthcare and hospital plant. The NSAI accredited facility was purpose-built with a full barrier system to meet hospital requirements. By operating on a straight-through principle, soiled and clean hospital ward bed linen are kept separate at all times in order to prevent contamination, cross-contamination and re-contamination.

As a plant, it exclusively processes products for the healthcare industry in line with the highest standards of hygiene and infection control.

Celtic Linen successfully achieved accreditation to EN 14065:2002  Risk Analysis & Biocontamination Control (RABC) System,  the aim of this hospital standard being to assure the microbiological quality of processed linens.

Celtic has validated and challenged wash processes and has established documented evidence to prove that our linen hygiene services will consistently provide chemical and thermal disinfection on microbiological contaminants. We have specifically challenged our process to remove indicator organisms commonly associated with Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).
